Lights and Sirens: Crestline Police nab 2 in drug bust

DRUGS FOUND

The Crestline Police Department arrested two people on drug charges Thursday during a search of a home in that village as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into drug trafficking. Arrested were Kaleb M. Johnson, 20, and Alyssa M. Hayman, 19, both of 262 E. Bucyrus St. Both were charged with possession of cocaine and possession of Ecstasy, fifth-degree felonies, Friday morning in Crawford County Municipal Court. Authorities found suspected cocaine, marijuana, LSD, Ecstasy and prescription pills at the residence. Officers, assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Bucyrus and Galion police departments and the METRICH enforcement unit, also located a marijuana grow operation during the search, along with numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia and cash, according to Crestline Police Chief Joseph Butler. County prosecutor Matthew Crall said the investigation is continuing and that his office expects to file additional charges.

ARRESTS

A 34-year-old woman was arrested by Bucyrus Police on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments. She was issued a summons and transported to the Crawford County jail. The same woman was arrested Wednesday on three Crawford County warrants, and taken to Crawford County Municipal Court. 2:42 p.m.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on a Crawford County warrant. She was transported to the Crawford County jail to be held for court. 3:47 p.m.

INCIDENTS

A motorist was given a verbal warning for equipment in the 400 block of North Walnut Street. 9:58 a.m.

A private property accident report was taken in the 800 block of Plymouth Street. 11:15 a.m.

A motorist was given a verbal warning for equipment in the 400 block of North Lane Street. 12:40 p.m.

A West Warren Street resident reported her vehicle damaged overnight. 12:52 p.m.

A traffic citation was issued in the area of West Oakwood Avenue and South Poplar Street. 1:32 p.m.

Officers assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the area of South Walnut and East Rensselaer streets. The vehicle was pushed out of traffic and the driver had help coming. 2:37 p.m.

A report of a speeding motorcycle and unlicensed mini bike on Wayne Avenue was investigated. 3:10 p.m.

A verbal traffic warning was issued on East Mary Street. 3:40 p.m.

Officers spoke to a person at the Police Department about drug issues. 3:59 p.m.

A report of kids disrupting traffic in the area of East Southern Avenue and Rogers Street was investigated. 4:24 p.m.

A report of a suspicious person at Aumiller Park was investigated. He was just waiting for a friend. 4:32 p.m.

Officers assisted EMS personnel in the 1700 block of Whetstone Street. 7:17 p.m.

A report of loud music in the 1000 block of Wingert Street was investigated. 9:18 p.m.

Officers checked Washington Square for a person with an active warrant. 10:01 p.m.

INCIDENTS

Officers assisted Life Support in the 200 block of West Galen Street. 12:04 a.m.

A report of an injured dog in the 1500 block of North Sandusky Avenue was investigated. The Crawford County Humane Society was contacted and transported the dog for treatment. 12:41 a.m.
