FRAZEYSBURG — Fanatics Inc. announced Wednesday that it is hiring 1,500 temporary employees to help meet the demand for the sport and holiday season.

Fanatics Inc. in Frazeysburg is hiring 1,500 temporary employees to help meet the demand for football season.

The national sports apparel and merchandise company is looking to hire in a variety of positions, including general warehouse workers and receiving/inbounding professionals, to work out of the Frazeysburg distribution center. The positions will be filled through Randstad US, a staffing organization that helps businesses to hire employees.

Pay starts at $10 an hour for the day shift and $11 an hour for the night shift. Returning workers will make an extra 25 cents per hour, said Brian Kraner, senior vice president of Randstad In-House Services.

The day shift is between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., while the night shift lasts from 4:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Employees work 10-hour shifts, four days a week.

Based in Florida, Fanatics sells licensed sports merchandise and other memorabilia, including bobbleheads, T-shirts, jerseys and hooded sweatshirts.

The Frazeysburg shipping center overtook Jacksonville as Fanatics' largest order fulfillment center. Hundreds of thousands of units of merchandise are shipped daily from the center, the Times Recorder has previously reported.

The company is primarily looking to meet the demand of the holiday shopping season and the fall and winter sports seasons, Kraner said.

Fanatics hopes to have the positions filled in time for Cyber Monday in November.

People who are interested can apply online. Fanatics will host open interviews between 10 p.m. and 2 p.m. daily at its facility on 5563 Raider Road.

Randstad also  is recommending applicants attend one in a series of job fairs the company is hosting:

  • 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Licking Valley High School football game sponsorship, 100 Hainsview Drive, Newark.
  • 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Meadowbrook High School football game sponsorship, 58615 Marietta Road, Byesville.
  • 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Utica High School football game sponsorship, 260 N. Jefferson St., Utica.

Also, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, WCLT Radio T100 will have a live broadcast from the Fanatics facility in Frazeysburg; Randstad’s Heath Ohio branch office will host a similar event Oct. 17.
