Logan man seriously injured after fight

CORNING— A Logan man is in critical condition after a fight in the early hours of Tuesday in Corning.

Deputies with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office responded at 6:50 a.m. to 107 North Valley St., where they found an unresponsive male on the ground bleeding.

The man, identified as 54-year-old Jeffery M. Patton, had severe head trauma and was having difficulty breathing.

EMS transported Patton to Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, where he remains in critical condition.

Patton was involved in an altercation on North Valley Street, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect fled the area before deputies arrived.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the incident with the assistance of the Corning Police Department.
