Fairfield County Fourth of July activities

Here are this year’s Independence Day activities:

Friday

Buckeye Lake Mini-BLAAST

•When: 10 p.m. Friday

•Where: Fairfield Beach

•FYI: Fireworks committee chose not to ask businesses for donations this year due to lowering lake levels this spring. Residents can send donations to BLAAST, P.O. Box 475, Millersport.

Saturday

Lancaster Fourth of July celebration

•When: 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. Route: Fairgrounds Columbus Street entrance, south to West Main Street, east to North Broad Street, north to Fairgrounds. 12:30 to 10 p.m.: Rides, food vendors, entertainment. Crafts under the grandstand. Third Departure on the midway stage from 4 to 7 p.m. Annual half-pound hot dog eating contest sponsored by Dandy Dog, midway stage, 5 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m.

•Where: Fairfield County Fairgrounds

Pickerington July 4 celebration

•When: 4 to 11 p.m. (or later). Park opens at 4 p.m., with a parade through Olde Pickerington Village at 6 p.m. Opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m., Next Exit on the main stage from 8 p.m. until fireworks begin at 10 p.m., and again at 10:30 p.m.

•Where: Victory Park, 100 Lockville Road
