Baltimore: Learn to play dulcimer

BALTIMORE — The Canal Strings Group is offering a free beginners dulcimer class at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Fellowship Hall room at Christ United Methodist Church.

Students will learn to play the dulcimer in one class and be able to play with a group after four lessons. The regular Canal Strings Group will start meeting at 7 p.m. Mondays. Contact Cookie or Dave Friesner at 740-304-7787 or the church office at 740-862-4343 if you are interested.

New VFW Post 3761 members

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3761 welcomed the following new members to the post: Joshua Millner, Tim Page, Clinton DeWitt and Brandon Pickens. If you are, or know of someone who is on active duty, or of a veteran who suffers financial hardships or is over 80, please contact membership chairman Chuck Keller at 740-862-8930.

Annual Craft and Antique Show

The Christ United Methodist Church 15th annual Craft and Antique Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 24. There will be a variety of craft vendors, door prizes, a bake sale and homemade lunch. Everything is indoors. There is a $1 admission fee. Tickets will be entered in door prize drawings. These proceeds support the ministries of the church.

•Breakfast at VFW Post 3761: 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

•Bingo hosted by the Liberty Union Athletic Boosters. Bingo starts at 7 p.m.; doors open at 4:30 p.m. Instant games, food and evening payout of $3,600. Held at Liberty Union High School, 500 Washington St.
