11-year-old struck by car

CHILLICOTHE – The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating an injury crash involving an 11-year-old pedestrian that took place about 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Anderson Station Road.

According to the patrol’s preliminary investigation, Jerry Jordan, 32, of Fort Worth, Texas, was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition northbound on Anderson Station Road when he struck Deanna Vitatoe, of Chillicothe, who had walked into the roadway from a private drive.

Vitatoe was flown from the scene by MedFlight and transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
