Hayes center to launch new name, logo, website

FREMONT - The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, which turns 100 next year, will unveil a new name, logo and website at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4 in the Hayes Museum auditorium. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

“This is big,” said Christie Weininger, Hayes Presidential Center executive director. The logo launch will kick off the center’s centennial, which it will celebrate throughout 2016 with a grand celebration planned for Memorial Day weekend.

The center already has begun a transformation as work continues on the new, handicapped-accessible museum front entrance, which is expected to be completed in March.

Installation of new museum exhibit galleries begins Jan. 4. Although the museum will be closed, the library, Hayes home and grounds will remain open during construction. The exhibit galleries will be dedicated during the center’s centennial celebration over Memorial Day weekend. Both projects are part of the Center’s $1.3 million Centennial Campaign, and $1 million has already been raised.
