Coshocton Hospital going tobacco free

COSHOCTON – On July 1 Coshocton Hospital will be tobacco free at all its clinics, parking lots, hospital grounds and hospital owned properties.

The move is driven by physicians, nurses and health care professionals citing tobacco as the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, the hospital said in a release.

Patients are urged to discuss their tobacco use with a doctor or nurse and receive information on using nicotine replacement therapy during their hospital stay.

Friends and family visiting patients in the hospital who leave the property to use tobacco can leave a phone number with the nursing staff in case they need to be reached in an emergency.
