Chase through Coshocton leads to arrest

COSHOCTON - One man is in custody after leading officers on a chase through Coshocton and into West Lafayette, according to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office reports undercover officers met an adult male at an undisclosed location where the man thought he was meeting a 12-year-old for sex. A release from the sheriff's office said the man had solicited sex through Facebook.

According to the report, the suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle, leading law enforcement on a chase that ended with a crash north of West Lafayette on Ohio 93.

The man, whose name has not been released pending the filing of formal charges, is being detained by the county.

The sheriff's office, Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office and West Lafayette Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
