Flower show coming to Baltimore

BALTIMORE – Plan to attend the Fairfield County Federated Garden Clubs’ spring flower show Saturday in the Family Life Center at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Main St., Baltimore.

The show will be open to the public from noon until 4 p.m. Basil Garden Club will host the show, which is titled “A Lifetime of Flowers,” depicting the various occasions during a lifetime that flowers are given and received.

In addition, the Carroll Community Garden Club and the Faithful Gardeners Garden Club will exhibit in the judged flower show. Peggy Hutchinson, the owner of Beautiful Floral Creations, will have a commercial display. The Basil Garden Club will feature two educational exhibits: Ohio Butterflies and Succulent Containers.

The public may participate in this flower show in the horticulture classes and two design classes. One design class is the junior artistic class for youth ages 6-18. For additional information about the open classes, contact Louise Smith at 740-862-6018 or louisesmith2007@hotmail.com.

Annual yard sale

Christ United Methodist Church will have its annual church yard sale June 18-20 in the Family Life Center. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 18 and 19 and 8 a.m. to noon June 20. Call Carol Sayre at 740-862-6660 for more information.

Alumni Banquet

The annual Liberty Union-Thurston alumni banquet will be held at 6 p.m. June 13 in the Liberty Union High School cafeteria, 500 Washington St. The banquet is held each year on the second Saturday of June. No dues are required for the association. All graduates of LUHS are members, including the class of 2015. The honored classes this year will be 1965 and 1990.

Blood drive
