Police Beat: Safe, cash, rings stolen in burglary

JAN. 27

INCIDENTS

A man reported arson in the 400 block of Olney Drive and part of a burned flare casing was seized as evidence. The police report classified the case as closed.

A man reported a burglary in the 500 block of Thompson Street and a wallet, two debit cards, a safe, $1,000 in cash, wedding ring, four other gold rings and a Harding High School class ring were stolen.

JAN. 31

INCIDENTS

A man reported a burglary in the 900 block of Paula Drive and $300 in cash, a video game system, tattoo equipment, clothing, 30 DVDs and 20 video games were stolen.

FEB. 2

ARRESTS

A man was arrested at Harding High School on a charge of disorderly conduct.

INCIDENTS

A man reported a theft in the 400 block of East Church Street and a leather jacket was stolen.

ARRESTS

Dillon E. Elswick, 22, Mount Gilead, was arrested in the 500 block of North Main Street on a felony charge of drug abuse and misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business and driving under suspension.

Christopher N. Bonney, 37, 217 Libby Lane, was arrested in the 200 block of East Church Street on a felony warrant for nonsupport of dependents.

Dion Turner, 36, 387 Silver St., was arrested near his residence on a felony warrant for drug abuse.

A man was arrested in the 300 block of Silver Street on a warrant for failure to appear.

A man was arrested in the 400 block of East Center Street on a charge of possession of marijuana.

A man was arrested at Marion General Hospital on charges of disorderly conduct by intoxication and probation violation.

A man was arrested in the 200 block of Oak Street on a charge of criminal trespass.

INCIDENTS

A man reported a theft from a motor vehicle in the 400 block of Pearl Street and four tires were stolen.

A man reported criminal trespass in the 1000 block of Davids Street.

A man reported a break-in in the 300 block of Blaine Avenue.

A woman reported an assault at Grant Middle School.

ARRESTS

A man was arrested in the 200 block of Johnson Street on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication.

INCIDENTS

A woman reported a theft from a motor vehicle in the 600 block of West Center Street and a tablet was stolen.

A man reported a theft from a motor vehicle in the 600 block of Normandy Drive and a laptop was stolen.

ARRESTS

A man was arrested in Waldo on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication.

A man was arrested at the Multi-County Correctional Center on a warrant for nonsupport of dependents.
