Staff report
Lancaster police are searching for a man believed to be connected to multiple gas station thefts and a robbery that occurred on Nov. 26 and Nov. 28.

LANCASTER - Police are searching for a robbery suspect they think is connected to three other gas station thefts or attempted thefts in Lancaster that occurred over the weekend.

The man, captured on surveillance video, originally robbed BP Duke and Duchess, 561 E. Main St., at knifepoint at 7:27 p.m. Thursday, according to police.

Police described the suspect as a white man, age 40 to 55, with gray or partially gray hair, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a “Monster” emblem on it, jeans and a camouflage face mask Thursday, according to the Lancaster Police Department, which said the suspect took an undetermined amount of money from the store. The suspect's vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored sedan, police reported.

Lancaster police are asking for the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect and the vehicle the suspect used at the time of the incident.

Three more theft-related incidents were reported at Lancaster gas stations Saturday by a suspect with a similar description. police said.

The suspect demanded money from two other area gas stations — the Sunoco station at 521 Lincoln Ave. and the Shell station at 829 N. High St. — before leaving the stores, police reported; the final theft, which was unsuccessful, was attempted at the same location as the earlier robbery, the BP Duke and Duchess on East Main Street.
