Police Calls: METRICH raid nets TVs, crack and cash

100 block of Stewart Avenue, Mansfield — A METRICH raid Monday netted crack cocaine, cash, numerous TVs, a stolen laptop. Authorities served a felony warrant on a 33-year-old man for possession of drugs and receiving stolen property. According to the police report, during the search of the residence, crack cocaine and $416 were seized along with a laptop which was found to be stolen. Multiple TVs along with other evidence was collected and submitted to the lab. The suspect was taken to the Richland County Jail. Charges will be forward to the prosecutor's office for a second suspect. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Richland County Children Services as it appeared children were living in the residence.

Foundation Academy of Mansfield, 1050 Wyandotte Ave., Mansfield — A 14-year-old boy Monday left the school after he had words with a teacher. The boy's name was entered into the state computer as a runaway.

200 block of Fifth Avenue — A man told police Tuesday he found a syringe in the driveway.

300 block of Glessner Avenue — A 33-year-old woman was arrested for drunkenness and taken to jail after it was reported Tuesday she was being belligerent and combative towards hospital staff.

100 block of North Linden Road — A woman reported Tuesday her son had his bicycle stolen while he was at Mansfield Senior High School track practice.

600 block of Gilbert Avenue — A man reported he came home to find his Xbox missing. After calling area resale game shops, the victim located the system. The game shop gave back the system and captured the culprit on video. The victim told police Tuesday the culprit is a friend of his who has been to the house before and likely came in through a side window to steal the system.

First block of North Diamond Street  —  A man was escorted from a courtroom and issued a summons Tuesday after he reportedly caused a disturbance over an ink pen. The man refused to calm down and stop cursing after being asked repeatedly by the bailiff and judge. The man eventually admitted he stole the cartridge out of the ink pen, which belonged to the city.
