CHILLICOTHE — A quick response to a call from an elderly woman stating someone was in her home resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old man on several burglary-related charges.

According to Chillicothe Police, officers responded to the 700 block of Adams Avenue at 10:05 a.m. Thursday regarding a burglary in progress that had been called in by a woman reporting someone had broken into the residence through the back door. The woman had called out to the person, who then ran off.

Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description of the alleged intruder, and after a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody. Inside a backpack being carried by the suspect identified as Larry Bostwick, officers found what were described as criminal tools that had been used to make a forced entry into the home.

Bostwick was charged with burglary, possession of criminal tools, possession of drug instruments and served with a warrant charging receiving stolen property.
