Zanesville native writes another test prep book

Staff Report

ZANESVILLE – After the success of his ACT prep book, a Zanesville native, Brian Stewart, was chosen to rewrite a PSAT prep book from Barron’s Educational Series.

The new book, Barron’s Strategies and Practice for the New PSAT/NMSQT, will be available by July 1. The PSAT is both a practice SAT and the qualifying test for National Merit and National Achievement scholarships.

The PSAT is changing in 2015 to focus on real-world applications of grammar, vocabulary, and mathematical skills in the math and evidence-based reading and writing sections. Other changes include: abandonment of the guessing penalty, top score changing to 1600 and a greater focus on data analysis and statistics.

Stewart is president of the Columbus tutoring company BWS Education Consulting, Inc. He is a former high school teacher in central Ohio.

Stewart crafts all test prep book sections himself, allowing for a cohesive presentation of test-taking strategy. His tutoring company is located in Columbus. More information is available online at www.bwseducationconsulting.com.

Stewart is also the creator of www.FreeTestPrep.com, a website that provides free test prep and college admissions resources to students everywhere.
