Police stop shoplifter at Menards Saturday

LANCASTER - Lancaster police officers stopped an alleged shoplifter in progress at Menards on Ety Road while investigating a separate shoplifting incident Saturday evening.

Two people entered the store, one carrying an empty tan bag. The two attempted to exit the store with items in the bag that they had not purchased. Police arrested them both on charges of theft.

While there, an employee noticed a man wearing a dark gray jacket. He had a large, square bump under the jacket that he was supporting with his hands in his pockets. Police then followed the suspect out of the store, and the man ran.

After an officer was able to catch up to the alleged shoplifter in the cruiser, he was also arrested on theft charges.
