The sheriff's office was dispatched to the 11000 block of U.S. 50 just shortly after 10 p.m. and spoke with the victim, who was identified as Peebles resident Thomas Friend. Friend, 23, told deputies he had been involved in a road rage incident at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Jones Levee Road that resulted in an altercation with three male suspects in a white truck.

Friend said that one of the individuals had stabbed him in the chest. He was taken by squad to Adena Medical Center and then flown to Ohio State University and was in stable condition as of Saturday evening.

Detectives from the sheriff's office are still investigating the incident, authorities said.
