Equipment stolen from Greenfield Twp. garage

CARROLL – Equipment was reported stolen earlier this month from the Greenfield Township garage.

Three chainsaws, a pole saw and an impact wrench were reported stolen from the Greenfield Township Road Department garage, 4663 Carroll Cemetery Road, according to a Fairfield County Sheriff's Office report released Friday.

The theft occurred between 7 a.m. July 20 and 3 p.m. July 21 and the loss was estimated at $3,250.

Authorities report several other large area thefts in the last few days:

-- A 2012 Sure-Trac, 6-foot by 12-foot, trailer with a drop gate was reported stolen while parked at property located in the 1200 block of Collins Road, Lancaster

The theft occurred between noon July 21, and 10:45 a.m. July 23, according to a Fairfield County Sheriff's Office report made public Friday.

The loss was estimated at $1,500.

-- A gold 1998 Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Hampton Inn, 2041 Schorrway Drive, Lancaster, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday.

Also in the vehicle were the victim's cell phone and Apple iPad, according to a Lancaster police report.

The loss was not estimated.

-- A victim who was mowing grass Thursday in the 1000 block of Stone Run Court, Lancaster, spotted a silver Suzuki pull up beside his 2003 GMC pickup and a man get out.

The suspect looked into the bed of the GMC pickup and then picked up two backpack blowers from the bed, jumped back into the Suzuki, which had another person as a driver, and they drove off with the victim shouting for them to stop, according to a Lancaster police report.

The loss was estimated at $900.

-- A .25 caliber handgun along with $8,740 in cash were reported stolen from a bedroom of a home in the 200 block of Reber Avenue, Lancaster.

The theft occurred sometime between 11 a.m. July 25 and 8:20 a.m. Thursday, according to a Lancaster police report.
