Drug sweep nets 18 arrests

LANCASTER — Police officers arrested 18 people during a sweep of the city beginning late Monday night, according to a press release from the Lancaster Police Department.

Officers on Lancaster Police’s third watch with members of the Major Crimes Unit and the Street Crime Reduction and Prevention team targeted locations throughout that they say are known for drug activity.

During the shift officers made seven traffic stops that resulted in 20 citations. Three arrests were made on outstanding warrants. Eighteen other arrests were made, 14 of which are drug related. Five of those drug related arrests were felonies.

One loaded firearm was also seized along with “various drugs and paraphernalia,” according to the release.
