Box of cats left at humane society’s door

LANCASTER – A man was seen dropping off a box of cats in front of the Fairfield County Area Humane Society around 11 a.m. on Monday, according to Lancaster police reports.

The man reportedly got out of gold van with a large cardboard box of cats and sat it in front of the entrance to the building, 1721 Granville Pike. An employee ran outside to confront the man and the van’s driver, but they drove off as the employee yelled for them to stop.

The humane society is providing police with security video of the incident and a potential license plate number of the van.
