PORT CLINTON — A Port Clinton woman is facing charges after reportedly entering a pizza store to complain that she did not get the toppings she ordered on her pizza and allegedly assaulting an employee with a napkin dispenser.

Olga Marez, 41, is being charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with the incident, which was caught on security camera footage.

In the video, a person identified as Marez can be seen entering the Marco's Pizza store in the 100 block of East Perry Street around 10:45 p.m. Oct. 2.

The victim, a Marco's Pizza employee, told police that Marez came into the store and began complaining about a supposed problem with an order. After Marez entered the store, the video showed her speaking with the employee for about three minutes before things escalated.

According to police, the customer was upset after she said she had ordered particular toppings for a pizza but had received only cheese. The pizza in question was not returned to the store during the customer's complaint.

The victim said Marez became irate. Police noted that Marez slammed her fist on the counter and started to point her finger while yelling at the employee, who was on the phone.

Eventually, near the end of the encounter, the video shows Marez shoving a large napkin dispenser across the counter, plowing through a business phone and hitting the employee's right arm. Marez then quickly exited the store with the debris strewn on the floor.

Police were able to identify the woman using the phone number associated with the pizza order. When an officer contacted Marez, she said the employee was rude to her and she did push the napkin holder at the employee, according to the report. The officer informed her of the charges and that she would be issued a summons.
