State patrol investigating report of hit-skip crash

JOHNSTOWN – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a reported hit-skip crash Thursday night in Monroe Township.

Just before 8 p.m. Thursday, a Ford truck hit the rear of Brian White’s bicycle, according to the patrol. White, 48, of Pickerington, was thrown from the bike into a nearby ditch where a local resident who heard the crash found him, the patrol reported.

The crash took plance about a half mile east of U.S. 62 on Sportsman Club Road. The patrol reported the driver of the Ford truck did not stop.

White was transported by medics from Monroe Township Fire Department with serious injuries.

The patrol is looking for a mid-2000 Ford truck with front end damage, including a missing Ford emblem. Anyone with information is asked to call the patrol’s Granville post at 740-587-0787.
