FREMONT – Police are still looking for a black male subject alleged to have robbed a Fremont juvenile while the juvenile was walking home from the Sandusky County Fair Saturday night.

The juvenile, 17, said he was walking home from the fair at 11:39 p.m. near Cleveland and Hayes Street when a black male subject asked him if he wanted to buy marijuana, a police report said.

The report said the juvenile was picked up by the male, described as 18-years-old, wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts, and slammed to ground after refusing to buy marijuana.

“The man proceeded to punch (the juvenile) and demand he give him everything,” the report said.

The juvenile gave the man his wallet and told police there were an unidentified number of subjects with the suspect.

The report said the only item in the wallet was the juvenile’s school identification.

Police said the subject may be from out of town as the juvenile told them he did not recognize the attacker and said he heard other subjects mention Findlay and the name Tyson.

The report said a witness at the scene chased the subjects from the area. They left the area in a silver and black car, which looked like a Dodge Charger.

The juvenile had swelling above his left eye and complained of losing consciousness during the attack. EMS took the juvenile to ProMedica Memorial Hospital to treat the eye injury and cuts on the juvenile’s face, the report said.

Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call Fremont police at 419-332-6464.
