CHILLICOTHE – A 50-year-old woman went to Adena Medical Center Saturday after she fell from a moving vehicle on Eighth Street.

An incident report filed by Chillicothe Police said the woman went to the hospital via Chillicothe fire rescue squad with cuts to both of her knees, hands, back and face, as well as numbness in both of her hands after the incident, which happened around 7 p.m.

The woman told police she was riding south on Paint Street in a truck with a man she knew when she told him she wanted to get out of the truck because he was “driving her crazy.”

After the truck stopped for a red light at Eighth and Paint streets, she opened the door to get out and the light turned green, telling him to stop the truck or she was jumping out, the report said. He accelerated as he turned east on Eighth Street, swerved and she fell out onto the ground.

One witness to the incident said it appeared as the driver pushed the woman out of the truck, but another witness said she couldn’t see what happened before the woman fell out.

The woman, who had admitted to drinking alcohol before the incident, provided police with the driver’s name, but wouldn’t give further information and didn’t want to press charges against him. Police want to talk to the driver as part of their investigation.
