Fire damages Day Avenue apartment

NEWARK – An apartment fire was quickly contained Saturday night on Day Avenue.

Newark Fire units were called to an apartment building in the 100 block of Day Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire was contained mostly to the kitchen and extinguished within 25 minutes, according to a department report.

The report did not indicate any serious injuries.
