Fremont Police Department investigates missing woman from England.

FREMONT - A misunderstanding between an English teen and her father led Interpol and Ohio investigators to search for the teen on Adams Street in Fremont, a police report said.

The mix-up happened when the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was told by agents from Interpol — the International Criminal Police Organization based in Lyon, France — that Samantha Pearson, age unknown, of England, was reported missing by her father and was believed to be in Fremont, the report said.

In an attempt resolve the situation, Fremont police went to the Adams Street home where Pearson's reported boyfriend, Thomas Bousquet, lived, and talked with Bousquet's father, Keith Bousquet, who said he had not seen the missing teen.

The report said Bousquet's father told officers that Pearson has never been to Fremont and that he believed she was still in England.

While Fremont police were searching the home on Monday, the report said Pearson attempted to contact Bousquet by Skype, a video calling service.

Officers spoke to Pearson through Skype and she told them she has never been to Fremont or the United States.

The report said Pearson spoke to her father that morning and that she was safe at home.

Police cleared the scene and determined that the missing person's report was a mistake.
