The 2014-15 Coaches Association All-District 14 girls basketball teams were released Monday and multiple area athletes made the cut.

At the top of the list in Divisions I and II was Unioto senior Alexis Overly; who was selected to the first team, named the 2014-15 Player of the Year and will now represent the south in the North/South All-Star game, later this year.

Alexis' sister, Taylor, was selected to the first team as well after the sharpshooter averaged 10.7 points per game and dished out two assists per contest.

The Overly's head coach, Jeff Miller, wasn't left out in the process either as Miller was named the 2014-15 Coach of the Year in Divisions I and II.

The Shermans, led by both Overlys and Miller, have posted a 21-4 overall record while earning a district final berth with a 42-36 win over Athens, this past Thursday. Unioto also went 13-1 in conference play — after going 14-0 last season — to win a share of the Scioto Valley Conference title.

In its district final, Unioto will take on Chillicothe, who has earned a spot in the contest by going 18-6 and winning a share of the South Central Ohio League. The Cavaliers are well represented on the All-District 14 team as well in Divisions I and II.

Senior Bri Dawes — who surpassed 1,000 career points this season — was named to the second team along with her teammate, sophomore Osh Brown; who set a school record for rebounds in a single season (334).

Waverly sophomore Laken Smith was honored by being named to the secon team as well.

Chillicothe's Shay Lett, a senior, was named honorable mention along with Zane Trace's Katie Unger, a junior.

The full first and second teams in Divisions I and II are as follows:

•Second team: Osh Brown (Chillicothe), Bri Dawes (Chillicothe), Madison Snyder (Hillsboro), Tanner Bryant (Miami Trace) and Laken Smith (Waverly)

In Division III, the area was well represented once again.

Piketon senior Ashlee Lawhorn — who finished her career with a total of 1,117 points — received first team honors as well as Southeastern freshman Ella Skeens; who was also named the 2014-15 Co-SVC Player of the Year (Overly).

Skeens' teammate Audrie Wheeler, a sophomore, was named to the third team as well as Huntington junior Ariel Sams — who averaged 14.2 points per game — and Westfall's Kelsie Robinson. Robinson led her Mustangs to a shared SVC title with Unioto and a sectional title. The junior point guard averaged 14.5 points per contest and led the area in assists with 102.

Area honorable mention selections included Huntington's Carolane Cox, Piketon's Kara Blanton, Southeastern's Logan Goebel and Westfall's Regan Stonerock.

Greenfield McClain's Shania Massie was named as the Division III district 14 Player of the Year while Wheelersburg's Dusty Spradlin took Coach of the Year honors.
