Staff report

COSHOCTON – Two adults were taken into custody after authorities reportedly seized weapons, cash and drugs during a raid Monday.

Only one man has been charged in the incident, according to Lt. Dean Hettinger, of the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office. The second person, a woman, was released Tuesday without being charged.

Charles E. Johnson, 30, of 21860 Tuscarawas Township Road 164, Coshocton, is charged with having a weapon - a firearm - while under disability, a third-degree felony. He remains in custody in the County Justice Center on a $7,500 bond, set Tuesday by Judge Timothy France in Coshocton Municipal Court.

Others charges may be considered by a grand jury, according to Coshocton County Prosecutor Jason Given.

Detectives with the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 5:15 p.m. Monday at Johnson's home. The search uncovered a gun, drugs, drug trafficking and manufacturing paraphernalia and cash, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, the Coshocton County Dog Warden and the Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office also assisted with the investigation.

Johnson was previously convicted of three counts of trafficking in crack cocaine in 2009 in Coshocton County Common Pleas Court, according to court records. Judge Richard Evans sentenced him to serve 10 months in prison.
