Six Lakers earned their fourth letters in spring

ElissaRae Barrere, Kylah Mackall and Taylor Zelms (softball), Chase Botson (baseball), Lauren Kalinoski (girls track) and James Dorko (boys track) were recognized for earning four varsity letters at Danbury’s spring sports banquet.

Botson was first-team all-Toledo Area Athletic Conference while Mike Stys was second-team. Alec Calton and Justin Tibbels were honorable mention.

Botson and Stys were co-MVPs while Tibbels was defensive player of the year. Calton earned the Laker Award.

Calton, Stys, Ryan Chapman, Jack Tyson and Austin Buchanan earned their third letters. Jacob Internicola, Jared Koenig and Sam Tyson have two apiece.

Zelms was first-team all-TAAC while Alyx Perram and Sam Puckett were second-team. Barrere and Paige Wright were honorable mention while Jeff Totten was coach of the year.

Zelms was top offensive player, Perram was top defensive player and Lily Bishoff took the Coaches Award for softball. Barrere earned the Laker Award.

Puckett and Perram have three letters while Haley Menier and Wright earned two apiece.

Erin Uhinck (pole vault) and Kalinoski (100 hurdles) were first-team all-league while Uhinck (both hurdles) and Bri Adams (high jump) were honorable mention. Kalinoski earned the Coaches Award, Uhinck most points and Sarah Bossetti most improved.

Sarah Redett was rookie of the year. Shelby Edwards and Adams earned their third letters while Alison Sypherd and Liz Hendrix have two apiece.

Caleb Gerber (110 hurdles) and Kain Lucas (shot put) were first-team all-league for boys track. Gerber was second-team in the high jump, long jump and 300 hurdles.

William Miller earned the Coaches Award, Lucas was most improved and Gerber had the most points. John Rhodes was rookie of the year.

Gerber and Eden Flynn earned their third letters. Ken Fleming, Dylan Harris, Nathan Ahrens, Lucas and Avery Nowak have two each.
