Fresno Market offers graduation party items and more

Could the sky have been any bluer than it was last Saturday at the Fresno Market? It was an absolute glorious day for market shopping.

Twelve vendors joined us for a great selection of items, plus two new vendors. Ginger Maple from Maple Hollow Farms had annuals and the Stutzman boys from Fresno offered children pony rides around the block. Made me want to be a kid again!

If you are planning your graduation party, you should come out to the Fresno Farmers Market to plan a fresh farm to table celebration. Homemade baked good, fresh brown eggs, breads and noodles and fresh local produce are a few of the items you can find.

I find it so encouraging that more and more folks are getting on board with healthy eating and sustainability these days. More people are planting gardens that haven't before or in years, to better their diet and save money on their grocery bills.

The Fresno Market can definitely help to meet your market needs, even so much that Peaceful Valley Sales have portable chicken enclosures for sale to raise your own laying chickens to collect your own fresh eggs. Pick up a loaf of homemade bread and a flat of tomato plants and go home with a portable chicken coop. Now that's real farm to table!

With fresh herbs coming into season and being plentiful this spring, here’s my wonderfully fresh and healthy herbal spread that would be great as a veggie dip or spread on crackers for your graduates celebration.

Herbal Cream Cheese Spread

•1/2 cup sour cream

•1/4 cup mayo

•8 oz. soften cream cheese

•1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice

•Select herbs of your choice like: chives, basil, oregano, thyme. Chop finely about 2 tbsp. of each herb

•Salt & Pepper to taste
