Police log: Man caught shooting explosive targets

HIT-SKIP CRASH

• 10:26 p.m., a caller said a car crashed into his vehicle and left the scene, 1010 block Springwood Drive, Rice Township.

FIREARMS

• 8:24 p.m., a caller said they heard gunshots. Deputies were unable to locate any firearms in the area, C.R. 305.

GUNSHOT

• 4:56 p.m., a caller said they heard gunshots near Otis Elementary. Deputies said they were unable to locate any firearms in the area, 718 N. Brush St.

FIREARMS

• 3:15 p.m., a caller said they hear gunshots in the neighborhood. A man told deputies he was shooting Tannerite targets. Deputies said the Fire Marshal’s Office considers Tannerite an explosive, 2470 block C.R. 106.

VEHICLE UNLOCK

• 12:56 p.m., a caller requested a vehicle unlock for a 3-month-old baby locked inside a vehicle, 300 block Adams Street, Green Springs.

CHARGED

• A 30-year-old Clyde man was charged with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

• A 49-year-old Fremont man was charged with one misdemeanor count of failure to appear.

• A 55-year-old Bellevue, Washington, man was charged with one misdemeanor count of disqualification of driving.

• A 37-year-old Fremont man was charged with one misdemeanor count for failure to appear.

• 11:38 a.m., a caller said they found a rusted machete near a dumpster, 1220 block Sycamore Street.

GUNSHOTS

• 4:03 a.m., a caller said they heard gunshots in the area. The caller said she heard a loud boom that shook her home. Officers searched the area and found no guns, 1030 block Tiffin Street.

• 5:24 p.m., a caller said a vehicle was swerving in the roadway, North Main Street.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

• 1:35 p.m., a caller said a dog was running loose in the street. The dog was taken to a kennel, 630 block Vine Street.

HARASSMENT

• 12:13 p.m., a caller advised police his daughter was being stalked, 420 block South Main Street.

FOUND PROPERTY

• 8:43 a.m., a caller said they found a lantern on the boat ramp, 340 block Limerick Road.

THEFT

• 8:26 a.m., a caller reported a theft to police, 300 block West McPherson Highway.
