New phase for Innerphase

LANCASTER — Innerphase Video Productions owner Bob Competti said his company will be able to offer more to customers with its recent move.

The company moved from an upstairs location at 115 W. Wheeling St. to 936 Prestige Blvd., which is off Fair Avenue. Most of the production work will be situated on the first floor of the building with office space upstairs.

"We've already had probably a half dozen customers come in and say, 'Oh, I'm so thankful I don't have to go up those steps,' " Competti said. "So it's nice for them. That's one of the biggest reasons we want to get a first floor."

Since the business doesn't depend much on walk-in business, Competti said location was not that big of an issue.

"We were looking for a new facility and we looked at this place," he said. "It used to be the old Helen's Flowers. When I first came here, I didn't know if it would serve our purposes or not."

But it did, and Competti is customizing the 6,400-square-foot building to his business needs. The building also has a large garage that will be used for studio space.

"Primarily, we're a video production company that produces films for Web commercials for businesses, television commercials," Competti said. "We do a lot of sports broadcasts. We also offer media duplication and transfer of any kind of media. If it's VHS tapes, If it's 8-millimeter films back from the '40s and '50s. With 16-millimeter film, we'll convert that over to disc or to file. We do a lot of that kind of stuff."

Competti has five full-time employees and 10 to 12 part-time workers.

The company was on Wheeling Street for 17 of its 25 years. Competti said Innerphase will begin offering video presentations with sound for celebrations and other events.

Competti also is in the local rock band Bad Influence, and he said he one room in the new building will be a recording studio that other bands can use.

Competti said about 60 to 70 percent of his video business comes from the area, with the rest coming from central Ohio and beyond. He also said the size of the new building allows the company to grow.

"We're a small company," Competti said. "But it's nice to be able have a little bit of extra room. Because there are times when we have a lot of people in and then there's times where you don't have anybody. But for those busy times, it will really make it nice for us."
