Prospect Council OKs budget; flagpole discussed

PROSPECT — A resolution to accept the projected 2016 budget was approved at the Monday meeting.

Council discussed whether to use the old flag pole at the new Village Administration building or to purchase a new, maintenance free one. Village Administrator Ken Blue will check into the cost involved. Council also discussed whether to keep or eliminate some playground equipment.

Blue reported leaks at the baby pool at the village pool have been repaired as well as welding places on the gutters. Stone was added under the fence as required. The storage building has been resided and painted.

Blue reported opening bid for the new utilities building and members chose the low bidder Morton Builders of Bucyrus. Mayor Jim Millisor ordered an ordinance drawn up so as to proceed with plans which would be started in the spring.

Also discussed was the AMP agreement for clean, green energy and the amount of kilowatts the village needs. The AMP Solar Phase 11 project is expected to lower gas rates. No decision was made.
