MARION – City police and county sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help in recovering a large number of stolen coins and silver bars after a recent burglary.

While some have been recovered at precious metal businesses, a police department news release said missing coins were stamped with 2014 and feature Elizabeth II, queen of the United Kingdom, on one side and Canada and an Arctic fox on the other.

Detectives Scott Sterling and Ben Graff requested the help of pawn shops and precious metal business in particular, and the investigation led to a search warrant being served Thursday in the 1000 block of Jamaica Drive.

The theft occurred between June 22 and June 30, officials said.
