Ida Rupp announces summer adult programs

PORT CLINTON – The Ida Rupp Public Library summer library programs start June 1.

The library has re-vamped its summer reading program for adults this year. Registration begins on June 1 and ends June 27. Individuals must be present to register and receive prizes. Final prizes are available July 20-25, receive a bag of swag after completing at least five weeks of the summer library program.

The summer library program is sponsored by the Friends of Ida Rupp Public Library.

There will be special programs planned around the theme “Escape the Ordinary”.

Programs include: June 2, 5 p.m. Comic Book Shoe Craft or Collage; June 19, 7 p.m. Guardians of the Galaxy movie; and June 25, 6:30 p.m. Comic Book Hero Art presentation by art historian Sean Crum.

July programs include July 7, 6:30 p.m. Greek and Roman Heroes in Mythology presentation by Sean Crum; July 17, 7 p.m. Big Hero Six movie; July 18, 3 p.m. Trivia at the Library: Do you know your pop culture heroes? With special host Rob Zajac; and July 23, 6:30 p.m. Leonardo DaVinci: hero of the Renaissance presentation by Sean Crum.
