Frazeysburg Village Council Meets

At the last Frazeysburg Village Council meeting, members voted to accept the proposed local government revenue for 2016 at $10,708.31. They also voted to extend the Waste Management contract for an additional year at the same prices that are in effect now.

Council voted to approve an ordinance to remove the street light assessment from the property tax bill starting next year due to a surplus of money that was caused by a miscalculation due to AEP overcharging the village.

Council did not approve the third reading of the ordinance that would have allowed three chickens or ducks per resident. The issue will not be on this November's ballot due to not being turned into the village office 10 days prior to the due date to the Board of Elections.

Mayor's court for July charges were $2,397. There were 54 incidents, 14 citations and 2 arrests.

Council member Rob Haines mentioned that a person in the village has seen very large yellow and black bees that are about 2-3 inches in length and anyone seeing these should report them to the County Extension Office because they are an Asian breed that is very dangerous if someone were to get stung.
