Each of Port Clinton’s top five girls has an average among the 17 best in the Northern Ohio Bowling Conference.

The Redskins, therefore, are undefeated league champions, going unbeaten in the regular seasons the last two years.

“We felt they could win the conference and be competitive, but really didn’t see this coming,” Port Clinton coach Mike Wittman said. “Finishing 20-0 after last year’s 18-0 replacing three starters is amazing.

“Winning 38 consecutive matches is incredible and unbelievable.”

Port Clinton’s Reilly Wittman is NOBC player of the year with a league-high and school-record 194.5 average. Jozlyn Seamon averages 170.

Katelyn Chapman, who wasn’t in the lineup often last season, averages more than 160 for seventh. Seamon and Chapman were second-team all-conference selections.

Freshmen Gabie Klein and Chyeanne Strader average in the 140s. Those three have improved their averages by more than 40 pins from last year.

“Their spare percentage and scores are improving weekly,” Wittman said. “They will become very good players.”

Jordan Gresh and Sierra Seibold are also on the team. The girls have good chemistry.

Bob Black also plays a role as girls coach.

“This group is very attentive and focused on being the best they can,” Wittman said. “They get along good as a team. They are very coachable, which leads to their success.”
