Baseball bat attack draws felony charge

CHILLICOTHE - A North Rose Street man is in jail after police say he attacked his brother with a baseball bat Friday.

Cody A. Dunn, 24, of 97 N. Rose St., is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, after the 2:19 a.m. Friday incident.

According to a Chillicothe police report, the victim received several stitches to close up two cuts on his head and one on the left side of his face from the attack.

When questioned, the victim told police Dunn went into his room and told him to be quiet and an argument began. Dunn told police he felt threatened, left the room, but returned with a wooden baseball bat and struck the victim in the head and face.

Police confiscated the bat and also several items of drug paraphernalia.

Dunn was arraigned Friday and is being held on $20,000 bond. He will have a hearing in Chillicothe Municipal Court Thursday.
