Rape case moved to Common Pleas Court

Staff report

PORT CLINTON – A judge ruled on Wednesday that there is enough evidence to charge a 23-year-old Cleveland man with the rape of a nine-month-old girl.

Following a preliminary hearing where the prosecution presented testimony from an investigating officer who dealt with the case, Judge Frederick Hany of Ottawa County Municipal Court made the ruling in favor of the prosecution.

Arron Blevins is charged with a first-degree felony count of rape, after allegedly sexually assaulting a child under the age of 10.

The case was moved to the Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas and Blevins’ bond remains at $500,000.
