Sweet Corn Festival tops week’s entertainment choices

The Millersport Sweet Corn Festival tops the weekly list of entertainment Best Bets as the event celebrates its 69th edition this week. It joins several other events as this week’s Best Bets in Fairfield County:

Millersport Sweet Corn Festival

The Millersport Sweet Corn Festival will continue from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at 2900 Chautauqua Blvd.

Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers and Phil Vassar are the headlining acts.

Vassar will play at 8:30 p.m. Friday, followed by Gatlin at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The festival is free, but there is a $10 parking fee.

Live Music Saturdays at Rockside Winery

Dr. Dan the One Man Band will be at Rockside Winery and Vineyards from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Rockside is at 2363 Lancaster-Newark Road in Lancaster.

Paint the Town

Destination Downtown Lancaster will host an open-air painting evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Beer, BBQ and Bluegrass

Shaw’s Restaurant and Inn will host beer, barbecue and bluegrass Friday, Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the Labor Day weekend.

Besides food, drink and live music, the event will also feature cooking classes.

Musical acts the Wayfarers, Scott Minar and the Fox ‘n Hounds will be featured throughout the weekend.
