Probation officer accused in rapes of child, 3 adults
KENTON – Authorities say a former probation officer in northwest Ohio has been accused of sexually assaulting a child and three adults — two of whom are developmentally disabled.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office said Friday that 47-year-old Donald Castle of Kenton was indicted by a Hardin County grand jury. He's charged with seven counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition.
A release from the Attorney General's Office says none of the victims were associated with Castle's job as a county probation officer, but authorities believe he "specifically targeted individuals who were vulnerable and unable to defend themselves."
State agents began investigating Castle last year following a report that he allegedly raped an adult while the victim was unconscious.
It wasn't clear Friday if Castle has an attorney yet.
