Port Clinton city, beach cleanup on Saturday

PORT CLINTON – The Port Clinton Recreation Department and the OSS Solid Waste District once again will sponsor the Port Clinton City Beach and Lakeview Park Cleanup.

The cleanup will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday. Volunteers are needed and are asked to report to the Lakeview Park Shelter House with gloves and rakes. Disposable gloves will be available, and bags will be provided to help with cleanup efforts. Please dress appropriately for the weather. The event will end at noon.

Areas to be cleaned this year include the Port Clinton beach, Lakeview Park and Water Works Park. These areas include a 1-mile strip of shoreline. A pizza lunch is being planned for volunteers after the event. The City Wide Cleanup is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city will provide dumpsters at the North Jefferson Pier parking lot for residents to dispose of unwanted items. For more information, call 419-734-5522.
