Amanda-Clearcreek clear of danger after alleged threat
AMANDA – Amanda-Clearcreek school officials reported a high school student making potentially threatening remarks against the school Friday morning, however, law enforcement determined the school is not in danger.
School District Superintendent David Gaul said students reported that a peer, who was in school at the time, had “made a comment about harming others,” or a comment that could be interpreted as being harmful to others. Gaul said he immediately called the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office to help investigate the claims. Law enforcement interviewed multiple students, including the student accused of making the comment, and determined that the school is not in danger.
Gaul told the Eagle-Gazette that the situation was resolved around 1 p.m. on Friday. All activities have resumed at the school.
