Two-vehicle crash sends woman to hospital

GREEN CREEK TOWNSHIP – A local woman was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo after a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 101.

Caroline Fritz, 49, of Clyde, was northbound on Ohio 101 when she went left of the center line with her SUV and crashed into a semi driven by Kyle Evensen, of Indiana, according to Ohio Highway Patrol.

Dispatch at the patrol’s Fremont post said Evensen gave a statement to troopers at the scene of the crash and said they were unaware if Evensen was treated or refused treatment by EMS.

The crash, which occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, remains under investigation. Charges have not been filed.
