Stabbing, robbery suspect faces charges

LANCASTER – A 21-year-old Lancaster man accused of stabbing a man with a folding knife during a robbery in June is facing multiple felony charges after being indicted by a grand jury.

Tyler King is still in custody in the Fairfield County Jail where he has been since Lancaster police arrested him, a day after the robbery in the area of Hubert Avenue and Third Street.

The robbery occurred the morning of June 10, about an hour before the 19-year-old victim told Fairfield Medical Center officials what had happened to him. Police were notified and interviewed the victim, and immediately began searching the area for blood and other evidence.

The victim suffered a stab wound to his wrist and cuts to his jawline and abdomen.

King is facing a first-degree felony aggravated robbery charge along with felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and abduction, a third-degree felony.

The victim told police that he had gone to a nearby store and was walking down Third Street to have a cigarette when a man came out from between two houses and came at him with a knife. The victim said the man took money from his wallet and stabbed him repeatedly before he was able to get away and run back to his friends at the store.

The victim’s friend told police that he took the victim home to get cleaned up before taking him to the hospital.

King is behing held at the jail on a $50,000, 10 percent bond.
