Bond hearings

The following people appeared before Licking County Common Pleas Court Magistrate Mattie Klein for bond hearings Monday. The cases may be reviewed by a grand jury for possible indictment or additional charges.

DeAndre A. Platt, 24, last known address 506 W. 38th St., Ashtabula, was charged with weapons under disability, a third-degree felony.

On July 3, Platt was suspected of having a weapon in his possession after a previous conviction, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $50,000.

Joshua R. Sawyers, 24, last known address 739 Mount Vernon Road, Newark, was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

On July 3, Sawyers was suspected of attempting to take a firearm from a law enforcement officer, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $75,000.

Christopher R. Williams, 21, last known address 187 Clinton St., Newark, was charged with obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.

On July 3, Williams was suspected of trying to flee from police, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $30,000.

Michael R. Doyle, 32, last known address 111 Claren Drive, Heath, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

On April 16, Doyle was suspected of having methamphetamine in his possession, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $5,000.

David L. Penick, 57, last known address 780 Sherman Ave., Newark, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony.

On July 2, Penick was suspected of having methamphetamine in his possession, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $20,000.
