MARION – A week after a Lewis Center bank was robbed, Delaware County authorities have charged a Marion man in connection with the crime.

Michael Dice, 59, 131 W. Center St., was arrested Tuesday in Marion by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion Police Department. A sheriff’s office news release said Dice is charged with robbery, a second-degree felony.

On July 27, Dice allegedly gave a note demanding cash to a teller at Lewis Center’s Key Bank and left after being given money, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Tracy Whited.

Whited declined to say how much money was taken.

Bank surveillance stills were shared on the central Ohio Crime Stoppers program Monday night, which quickly produced a tip to the sheriff’s office identifying Dice as the alleged robber. He was arrested without incident Tuesday morning.

The bank also was robbed July 15, Whited said. Detectives haven’t found any connection between the two incidents.

The suspect in that case, a 6-foot-1 white male weighing around 200 pounds, remains at large.
