Man hurt in crash on Ohio 16

Staff report

ZANESVILLE – One man was injured and another was charged after a crash on Ohio 16 on Friday evening.

Two trucks were stalled in the east lane of Ohio 16, waiting for another vehicle in front of them to make a left turn, said Troy Hale, a trooper with the Ohio Highway Patrol, and a third truck traveling east crashed into the back of the line.

Ryan Kilgour, 38, of Jackson, was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries and was released.

Kirby Wright, 22, of Coshocton, the driver of the third truck, a Ford Ranger, flipped his vehicle trying to avoid hitting Kilgour, Hale said, but was uninjured. The driver of the other truck also was uninjured.

Wright was cited for assured clear distance, Hale said. Ohio 16 was closed at the scene of the crash, near mile marker 13, for almost an hour Friday.
