Earth Day 5K to benefit Crawford Park District

BUCYRUS – Members of the community will have the opportunity to help Crawford Park District develop an Interactive Tree exhibit by participating in Ohio Earth Day 5K event held by The Ohio Earth Day Foundation Inc. on April 25.

The event will begin and end in Aumiller Park, meander through residential neighborhoods along the way and cross the Sandusky River via two pedestrian bridges. Each participant will receive an event T-shirt in recognition of their support. Registration is available at www.ohioearthday5K.com.

All of the proceeds from the event will go toward the Crawford Park District to help fund the construction of an Interactive Tree exhibit at the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline. The purpose of the exhibit is to engage and energize children in active nature education. The display will include a soil habitat tunnel, an eagle’s nest, and a hollow log.

To help make this exhibit happen, sponsorships are available in three tiers, a Sustaining Partner, priced at $1,000; Supporter, for $250; and Friend, for a $100 donation. Volunteers to help coordinate the event are also needed. For details about the event or The Ohio Earth Day Foundation Inc., contact Clay Korner at 419-562-0087 or email clay@cors.biz.
