Opt out deadline June 18 for electric aggregation

FREMONT – The current contract for electric service for residential and business customers under the City of Fremont’s Electric Aggregation Program with AEP Energy will end in July 2015.

The city has entered into a new contract for both residential and business customers for a two-year period; beginning in July 2015.The new rate for all customers is a fixed price of 6.193 cents per kWh for electricity supply charges. A new opt-out period will began May 18 with the mailing of opt-out letters to city residents by AEP Energy. The last date for all city residents to opt out of the program will be June 8.

On June 11 city residents that have not opted out of the program will be sent a second notice by AEP Ohio to opt out of the program by June 18. The first billing period with the fixed price of 6.193 cents per kWh will be in August.
